Our Balers Help Seattle Recycle & Compact Waste
Seattle is famous for its Space Needle, Pikes Market, Grunge music, and Starbucks. Its also infamous for other reasons, not the least of which is Mt Rainer which is one of the deadliest mountains in the US. and is home to no less than 25 glaciers.
Considered one of the most beautiful cities in the Pacific Northwest, it boasts a host of tourists attractions and is fast becoming a wine tasting destination.
In the recycling world, Bramidan helps Seattle’s businesses recycle and manage waste.
Seattle Pursues Goal of Zero Waste
Seattle adopted a mandatory commercial recycling ordinance in 2003, in 2007, and a Zero Waste Strategy in 2010. In February 2013 the city council adopted revised recycling goals by adopting “Seattle’s Solid Waste Plan 2011 Revision” with the following goals:
Seattle’s recycling rate is weight-based and calculated by determining the percentage of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) diverted from the landfill through reuse, recycling, and composting. The 2018 estimated recycling rate is 56.5%. Like most cities the rate has slipped since China’s “Green Curtain” started refusing American shipments of mixed paper, then plastics. Nevertheless, the city is doing its part to keep Washington one of the better states statistically.
Bramidan’s channel partner, Blankenship Equipment, has made a big impact by providing Seattle businesses with compactors and Bramidan balers to help Washingtonians keep their beautiful state clean, increasing the recovery rate towards Zero Waste goals.
