Our Balers Help Portland Recycle & Compact Waste

Ironically a city known for its passion for recycling does one of the worst jobs of it. In 2011, Portland gave residents another bin for wet compost to add to the recycling stream. At the same time, the city shifted to collecting garbage only every other week—which led some people to throw garbage in their blue bins.

Our MRFs also tend to be old and inefficient. Experts say, for instance, that leading recycling cities, such as San Francisco and Seattle and even red-state cities such as Las Vegas and Cincinnati, have invested much more in sorting and processing. Additionally, many Oregon paper mills have closed due to poor policies.

With Bramidan equipment, like the low profile 60 inch – X6030 – more material could be prepared in a state that would facilitate the direct conversion of the material such as cardboard bales into new raw materials. Plastics would not be contaminated by food and other materials like glass.
