Our Balers Help El Paso Recycle & Compact Waste

The high desert community of El Paso, Texas was established in 1850. El Paso is a border town, sitting in the westernmost point of West Texas and straddles the Rio Grande on the U.S.-Mexico border.  El Paso has many faces and on one hand, it is steeped in wild west history. There are many tales of Billy the Kid making his way to Texas and according to legend, freed the only man to ever escape from the old El Paso jail.

In the world of waste management, El Paso looks to Bramidan to help them with their recycling. 

The City of El Paso Environmental Services Department (ESD) is yielding positive results from its recycling awareness campaign launched last year. In the most recent audit, conducted in July 2019, the City saw an eight point drop in its recycling contamination rate compared to the previous audit from March 2019. The rate went from 34 percent to 26 percent.

In an inspired move, El Paso has recently started a program where recyclable materials are not to be bagged in the cart that they are collected in, this reduces costs and contamination rates. While El Paso is suffering from the Chinese markets on recycled materials, it is bettering its education and getting significant results.

Bramidan’ s efforts throughout Texas aim to further improve contamination rates, by taking clean and separated material from businesses and at multi-dweller properties out of the waste stream and recycling it, the contamination levels stay low and the landfills are less full. It is a win-win.
