Retail LARGE format stores - BEST BUY
Best Buy uses Bramidan's intelligent balers to boost sustainability and simplify waste management
When it came time to upgrade their fleet of balers, Best Buy turned to their national service partner, JWR Inc., who recommended Bramidan's reliable vertical balers for their US retail stores.
Key features make it the obvious solution
When it came time for Best Buy to choose the best baling solution to upgrade equipment in their US stores, they turned to their national service provider of 17 years - JWR Inc. The Johnson Creek, WI based company recommended Bramidan's B6030 and B20 balers. With key features like advanced technology, competitive cost of ownership, remote monitoring and troubleshooting capabilities, high dependability and safe operation, Bramidan's machinery was the clear choice for Cory Gardner, National Account Manager at JWR, Inc. Not to mention the installation process does not require forklift rental. In fact, many units were shipped directly to stores and offloaded right on their dock. From there, installation and hookup were quick and simple. The stores were able to have their new machine up and running within an hour or two, leaving little room for any loss in productivity.
Cory Gardner adds, "Bramidan's balers are so easy to offload and install. We had a few delivered directly to the dock and the stores set up their baler by themselves."
Reduced maintenance costs with intelligent monitoring system
All of Bramidan's balers are equipped with our intelligent monitoring system - BRA-IN. The breakthrough technology allows JWR to remotely connect with the machinery, effectively reducing Best Buy's maintenance costs and eliminating unnecessary service visits. The BRA-IN database also allows Best Buy to set up monthly notifications with production data for each unit, including number of bales made and scheduled waste pick ups. The overall transparency has proven to be invaluable for the stores.
Balers help achieve sustainability efforts
Best Buy has received wide spread recognition for their achievements in sustainability. Their decision to implement responsible and ethical business practices that impact the environment in a positive way is what led them to choose a more efficienct fleet of recycling equipment. By partnering with JWR Inc. to upgrade their machinery with a Bramidan B6030 and B20 baler, they were able to meet many of their sustainable development goals. The B6030 enables retail staff to reduce overall waste volume by easily and safely making 1,000 lbs. 60 inch mill-size bales of cardboard. As a result, Best Buy has optimized their waste handling operations. They have reduced compactor hauls, lowered costs associated with dry waste hauling, and increased revenue through OCC recycling and sustainability.
Hubert Joly, Executive Chairman of Best Buy, says; “We seek to apply our sense of corporate responsibility and focus on sustainable development...with all the communities in which we operate and the environment".
