1. No operation with open door
Door switch must be tamper proof, to prevent operation with an open door. That is why you must open and close the filling door after each cycle.
2. Double-checked malfunction
The door switch prevents operation with open door. But, for example if the door switch breaks, the control unit works as backup. In this way any malfunction is double-checked and activation of the press plate denied.
3. Strong spindle for controlled opening
The baler must be made in a way to prevent the lower door from opening too fast, which could cause injuries. Therefore, the baler has a strong spindle for steady and controlled opening.
4. Safe ejection of finished bale
The two-hand operation must be placed on the side of the baler. In this way you stand in a safe position with at good overview when the finished bale comes out of the chamber.
5. Safe two-handed operation
The bale must be ejected by pushing two buttons exactly at the same time and is not to be tampered with (accuracy Δ t 0.5 sec).
6. No risk of bale tumbling
The speed of bale ejection onto the pallet or floor must be controllable. To avoid a full height bale turning over more than 90 degrees when it is ejected.
7. Lowest possible noise level
Noise level must be reduced to the lowest possible level.
Bramidan balers have the lowest noise levels on the market.
Balers made safe by design
Safety is our main focus when designing and producing our balers. Besides the EN16500 standard, all our balers meet and exceed the ANSI and OSHA standards.
When you purchase one of our balers, you can rest assured that you're investing in the highest level of safety. You can rely on our vertical balers and feel absolutely safe while operating and compacting waste.
New European Safety Standard - EN16500
In spring 2015 a new European safety standard for vertical balers was released. It is called EN16500 and prescribes a very high safety level for all essential functions of the baler.
Levels of PLr (Performance Level)
PLr defines the ability of the safety-related parts of a control system to perform a safety function under conditions, which can be foreseen.
For experts we have described the PLr levels for the control system in details here.
