Bramidan can now produce a baler in less than 24 hours

OCTOBER 13 2020

We are proud to announce that we have reached our goal of producing a vertical baler in less than 24 hours from start to finish. We accomplished this by investing in a new robot powered plant for pretreatment and powder coating at our factory.

Advantages

  • doneFaster production - less than 24 hours to produce a baler
  • doneMore environmentally friendly production process that is free of solvents
  • doneWater consumption reduced by 90%.
  • donePowder coating makes the baler surface much stronger.

With the new plant for pretreatment and powder coating, we can manufacture a baler in less than 24 hours. At the same time, we have a much more environmentally friendly pretreatment and powder coating process, which is in line with our other work towards the UN's world goals.

Smart suspension, efficient pretreatment
and VR-programmed powder coating

Success of the factory plant is dependant upon careful preparation and proper suspension of machine parts. The superior results would not be possible without also having an efficient cleaning system and meticulous VR programming of the powder coating robots.

Take a look at the flow chart above to see the step-by-step procedure that the baler parts undergo during pretreatment and powder coating. The process begins with suspension, pretreatment and powder coating, and ends with cooling and dismantling. The painted items then continue on a conveyor belt into the assembly area for quality control.

After suspension, the products go through a 3 step pretreatment process: 1. Degreasing 2. Rinsing with demineralized water 3. Chemical surface treatment.

To avoid any issues during the painting process, it is very important that the machines are hung correctly.

We use Virtual Reality to program the robots. A subsequent test with simulation prevents errors when the robots start the powder coating.

The powder coating gives the balers a much more resistant surface than the traditional wet coating.

If needed, the powder coating robots can quickly change color in approximately one minute. This saves time and allows for flexibility during production planning.

The units are "baked" inside the curing oven at 200 degrees celsius for one hour. Next, they dry in the cooling zone.

After the baler has been taken down from the boom, it is placed on a conveyor and sent to the finishing line and quality control, before leaving the factory.
